What to Love about Murphy, North Carolina
When I first considered moving to Murphy, NC from Bryson City back in 2023, I admit I was a bit skeptical. As an avid outdoor enthusiast and resident coffee connoisseur, I wasn't sure if this small mountain town could match my lifestyle. To test the waters, I loaded up my gravel bike and spent a full day on the pedals, exploring everything this corner of Western North Carolina (WNC) has to offer. Now, after three years and change of living here, I am beyond grateful to call this community home. From pristine singletrack trails to thriving local businesses, Murphy completely won me over. Whether you are planning a weekend visit or thinking about making a permanent move, here are a few of the top reasons to love living in Murphy, North Carolina!

Located just minutes from Downtown Murphy, NC, this beautifully maintained, paved, and decked trail serves as a vital pedestrian corridor. It directly connects the historic L&N Depot to Murphy Health & Fitness and Konehete Veterans Park. As a local resident, I commute along this waterfront trail multiple times a week from my home near the old golf course to CrossFit Murphy, where I coach and attend classes. Choosing this trail saves me the stress of riding on busy downtown roads and rewards me with an up-close look at native wildflowers and local wildlife along the riverbanks.
